The "Red Hooker"
Pale Ale recipe by Bruce Franconi
5 gallon batch
1/2 pound Dark Crystal Grain
1/4 pound Crystal Grain
1/4 cup Roasted Barley Grain
Grains steeped in 1 gallon 150 degree water and rinsed with 1/2 gallon 160 degree water.
3.3 lb John Bull Light Extract (unhopped)
2 lb Munton and Fison Dry Wheat Extract
1 1/2 - 2 pounds Clover Honey
1 ounce Bullion Hop pellets (7.3% Alpha) boiled for 60 minutes (16.5 IBU)
1/2 ounce Cascade Hop Pellets (4.9% Alpha) boiled for 15 minutes (8 IBU)
Total IBU - 24.5
1 ounce Kent Goldings Pellets
1/2 ounce Tettnanger Hop Pellets steeped
Wyeast #1028 London Ale Yeast (made 1000ml starter)
Original Gravity 1.052 (approximate) Final Gravity 1.014 (approximate)
