Banner Porter (Flag Porter Clone)
Source: This is a Flag Porter Clone based on the Whitbread 1850 porter recipe from Old British Beers and How to Make Them by Durden Park Beer Circle with modifications based on Michael Jackson's comments on Flag Porter recipe by Jim Taylor.  

Makes 5 gallons  

  • 8.5 lbs of Pale 2row 
  • 1.5 lbs of Brown Malt (Toast Pale malt at 275F for 30-45 minutes) 
  • 0.5 lbs of Crystal 60 
  • 9 ozs of Black Patent
  • 1.6 oz East Kent Goldings hops for 60 minutes
  • .6 oz East Kent Goldings hops (Dry hop)
  • Wyeast Irish Ale Yeast
  • Procedure:  

    80 minute mash at 152F.  

    Specifics: O.G.: 1.056 F.G.: 1.012
